Lola Tung Bags New Role After The Summer I Turned Pretty Success
Lola Tung has won over viewers around the world for playing Belly Conklin, and now she’s moving on to an exciting new project.
The 23-year-old actress is reportedly set to team up with director Halina Reijn on a brand-new film.
According to Deadline, Tung has joined the cast of Please, A24‘s upcoming film, alongside Gracie Abrams, Tom Burke, Connor Storrie and David Jonsson. Plot details are being kept under wraps.
Reijn will direct the film from her own script and will also produce through her Man Up Film banner alongside frequent collaborator David Hinojosa.

A24 will produce and finance the project, with Zach Nutman serving as executive producer, the report adds.
Last year, Tung wrapped filming the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, alongside Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman and Rain Spencer.
She will next be seen reprising her role as Belly in the final season of the hit Prime Video series, which continues the story of Belly and Conrad (Briney).
Last month, the official account for The Summer I Turned Pretty even shared that the film was currently being recorded in North Caroline and demanded “privacy.” They wrote: “We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew,” the account posted alongside a video of Cousins Beach with “privacy please” written in the sand. “We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared.”
Away from television, Tung also starred as Eurydice in the Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown in 2024.
