There were some moments in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, Episode 7, that were absolute masterpieces. The song choices, the yearning – everything in between.
I’m so glad I got to experience this episode along with so many fans. Particularly, the confession scene from Conrad on the beach mirrors the last time Belly and he shared a passionate and fiery verbal exchange. I couldn’t get enough of it.

It followed the book almost word for word, and I can’t help but compare it to Jess from Gilmore Girls and Laurie from Little Women, in terms of the yearning men, which couldn’t be more on-brand.

Now, let’s unpack everything.
What Happened in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 7?
Conrad vs. Jeremiah
In this episode, Belly finds herself at a crossroads.
She is battling her inner feeling and can’t help fighting off her connection with Conrad and trusting that she wants to be with Jeremiah for the rest of her life.
Her emotions are pulled in both directions, and she can’t decide.
In The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, Episode 7, Conrad shops for a suit for the wedding, as he shares a moment with Jeremiah and Dad Adam.
At Jeremiah’s bachelor party, Conrad can’t believe it when he finds out his brother has cheated on Belly.
Jeremiah is enjoying himself leading up to his wedding. He takes drugs despite Belly’s initial disapproval and gets drunk during his bachelor party.
Laurel’s Decision
As we know from the last episode, Laurel has finally changed her mind and is now eager to be involved in Belly’s wedding.
Laurel attends Belly’s bridal shower and even lets her move back home.
What she doesn’t know is that Conrad has gone to great lengths to get to that point, which changes everything for her feelings toward him.
Steven and Taylor’s tension
I’m sorry, at this point, Taylor and Steven just need to get together.
Steven and Taylor clearly still like each other. He doesn’t need another love interest (just my opinion) but I guess I see why they didn’t work in the first place. Lack of communication.
Outside of his romantic life, Steven, who’s been trying to be the responsible older brother.
He feels the pressure of keeping his mom and Belly together and is conflicted after becoming Jeremiah’s best man. But thankfully, it all worked out in the end.
The Cousins’ Beach House
The beach house which has been a central setting throughout the series.
So many important scenes take place, from Jeremiah and Belly dancing around on the porch to Conrad getting injured while surfing and sharing a moment with Belly.
The episode’s ending
Can we take a moment to really appreciate the last episode, where Conrad confesses to Belly?
It was all building up to this moment, and I absolutely loved it. Christopher Britney did an amazing job bringing this to life.

Overall thoughts
First, the music choices, namely, “We Can’t Be Friends” by Ariana Grande, which was perfect during Belly’s flashback scenes of Conrad, to the endin,g this episode hooked me from start to finish.
Conrad’s confession on the beach was definitely my favourite.
It echoed one of the most passionate moments between him and Belly earlier in the series, and I’m glad it stuck closely to the scene in the book.
Belly was torn between Conrad and Jeremiah this episode, and it showed. She was fighting her past with Conrad and her future with Jeremiah.
Laurel finally accepts Belly’s relationship with Jeremiah and gets involved in the wedding planning.
Ofcourse, Conrad was the one who worked behind the scenes to help her come around, which changed the way Belly saw him.
With Steven and Taylor, their chemistry was undeniable, but their lack of communication is still holding them back.
Finally, Conrad’s confession to Belly at the end was perfect.
Conrad finally shows his true self, and Belly sees him as the soulmate she’s always needed.
Overall, this episode was chef’s kiss.
