Unlike the previous films, which focused on Katniss Everdeen and her fight against the Capitol, Sunrise On The Reaping, which is directed by Francis Lawrence, who previously helmed Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part I, and Mockingjay Part II, takes a look at the backstory of Panem’s early political state.
Fans were given a first glimpse through a teaser poster, which has been beautifully done. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is based on Collins’ fifth book, which was published earlier this year in March 2025.
