What is Frankenstein about?

This is another retelling of the book by Mary Shelley, directed by Guillermo del Toro.
The story, as most people already know, is about a brilliant scientist named Victor (Oscar Isaac), who assembles a being from the dead – the Creature (Jacob Elordi) – in a world that sadly fears and rejects him. He is left heartbroken and alone after his creator tragically abandons him.
Longing for nothing more than companionship, the Creature’s hope turns to fury when he is denied, setting him on a path of vengeance.
Guillermo del Toro is a Mexican filmmaker and author best known for fusing fairy tales, gothicism, and horror to create hauntingly beautiful stories. Del Toro’s famous works include Cronos (1993), The Devil’s Backbone (2001), Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), Mimic (1997), Blade II (2002), Hellboy (2004), and its sequel Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008).
The cast behind the film

The cast of the film includes Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi as the Creature, Mia Goth as Elizabeth (and also Baroness Claire in the film), and Felix Kammerer as William Frankenstein.
Additionally, Lars Mikkelsen as Captain Anderson, Christoph Waltz as Henrich Harlander, Charles Dance as Baron Leopold Frankenstein, David Bradley as Blind Man, Lauren Collins as Alma (the Hunter’s Wife), and Christian Convery as the young Victor.

Viewers reactions
Viewers have been left in awe of the beautifully crafted storyline, stunning cinematography, acting skills from the cast, and costume designs.
“Crying, screaming and throwing up rn. This is one of my favourite shots in the movie, it’s such a genuine moment of happiness for him.”
“guillermo del toro really poured his whole soul into frankenstein and i couldn’t have dreamed of a better adaptation. it’s a beautiful tribute to the woman who inspired him and you can feel how deeply he loved this book. i think mary shelley would have been delighted by what he chose to do with the story she wrote when she was only a teenager” another user on X chimed in.
A third person wrote, “The costume design in Frankenstein is breathtakingly beautiful.”
A fourth social media user added, “Victor showing the creature sunlight is the birth of their father-son bond. The first thing he tells him to see is the Sun “son” phonetically. The creature must think he’s being called “son” just before Victor hugs him. Symbolism too perfect to be coincidence.”
A fifth person said, “Omg, what a great movie. Only Guillermo del Toro knows how to make beauty in this way. Every shot, every detail in the movie is so perfect that it takes your breath away. One of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever seen. #Frankenstein.”
