My Life with The Walter Boys Season 1 Review
My Life with the Walter Boys is such a rollercoaster of a series.

What Is My Life with the Walter Boys Season 1 About?

Based on the novel by Huntley Fitzpatrick, the Netflix show follows Jackie Howard, a shy, somewhat reserved girl who’s forced to leave behind her bustling city life after a family tragedy.

She moves to a quiet, close-knit town in Colorado, where she ends up living with a chaotic household full of teenage boys – aka the Walter brothers.

In the first few episodes, we see that Jackie struggles to adjust to this new environment, but she is determined to pursue her dream of getting into Princeton University.

But as the series progresses, Jackie slowly starts to find her footing as she opens up to her new friends and family.

But despite these moments of peace, she can’t help but feel pulled back to the life and memories she left behind.

Romance plays a big role in her journey, but it’s not all smooth sailing.

She begins dating Alex, a quiet and thoughtful guy who initially seems perfect but soon shows a clingy, controlling side that raises red flags.

Meanwhile, there’s Cole, the tough, rebellious jock of the Walter family, whose softer side and unexpected kindness toward Jackie make her fall for him.

We also have strong supporting characters, including Isaac, who is hilarious, while Danny, the quiet film lover, is also very sweet to Jackie.

Throughout the series, we follow the story of a loving family who are always there to support each other, set against the picturesque backdrop of small-town Colorado.

Is My Life with the Walter Boys Worth Watching?

If you’re into coming-of-age drama, My Life with the Walter Boys is definitely worth a look.

While the show leans on familiar tropes—think lots of love triangles and a small-town setting similar to The Summer I Turned Pretty—it still manages to carve out its own space with relatable characters and a love story.

The central romance is a rollercoaster, even if some storylines feel a bit underdeveloped or drop off too soon.

The show isn’t without its flaws—the pacing can feel uneven at times, and the plot twists are sometimes predictable.

However, the series also ends on a major cliffhanger, leaving plenty to look forward to in Season 2.

Overall, if you like dramas about complicated relationships and finding oneself in difficult times, My Life with the Walter Boys is a sweet, enjoyable watch that will likely keep you coming back for more.
