Twilight garnered a legion of fans following its release in 2008. Based on Stephenie Meyer’s book, the film follows Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) who falls hopelessly in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a vampire.
When Bella Swan moves to Forks, she has no idea she’s about to attend high school with a family of vampires.
The Cullens are a strange group of adopted siblings – Alice, Esme, Rosalie, Jasper, and Edward – and their father, Carlisle, a centuries-old vampire and doctor.
Carlisle turned each of them after saving their lives, and together they live quietly in their small town. Bella lives with her father, Charlie, and struggles to fit in at her new school.
She quickly finds herself in dangerous situations, with Edward Cullen saving her each time. Intrigued by his strange behavior, Bella discovers the mystery behind him.
Twilight has been popular with millions of fans since its first release. Fans still hold the franchise close, and we revisit the films in order in this article. Get your popcorn ready.

Kristen Stewart on Playing Bella Swan and the Twilight Franchise
According to Kirsten Stewart, she and her cast members were forced to film the franchise in a short time frame, which she now describes as chaotic.
“We did it over a four-year period. We made five movies,” she said on an episode of the SmartLess podcast. “I have to say I felt like at the time that I could have redirected energy and become an academic, I was so hungry for more work because the Twilight series itself took forever.”
In a candid conversation with Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes, she opened up about the pressure she faced during the peak of her career, revealing how her drive to take on multiple projects at once led to a period of personal and professional burnout.
“I wanted to make other movies at the same time so badly,” Stewart admitted. “I just crashed and burned and barreled my way through those years and just was really … lacked any balance. I was just working constantly” she admitted.
Kristen also recently opened up about how she sees Twilight as a “Gay Movie” “I can only see it now,” she told Variety. “I don’t think it necessarily started off that way, but I also think that the fact that I was there at all, it was percolating.
Robert Pattison on Playing Edward Cullen and the Twilight Franchise
Robert Pattison has since appeared in several famous films since playing Edward Cullen, including in the new Batman movie.
However, he has been open and honest about how he found the Twilight movies “weird” in the past. He often criticised his character and the movie franchise as a whole. Back in 2019, he admitted: “Even when I was promoting it, I was pretty open about how strange I thought it was when I was doing it.”
Speaking more recently about his time behind the set, he said: “We had this strange tension where the studio was scared to make things a little bit too emo and stuff. I thought that was the only way to play it. I spent so much time [on set] infuriated… I can’t believe the way I was acting half the time.”
Tragic death
Twilight fans were left devastated after Gregory Tyree Boyce, an actor who appeared in “Twilight,” died from drug use.
Boyce was best known for playing Tyler Crowley in the first Twilight movie.
