It’s been a while since I wanted to get this film review up. Last month I went to see Final Destination: Bloodlines in the cinema and let me tell you it was an experience! As a huge fan of the movie franchise, I was super excited to watch this film – especially knowing that it would tribute cherished actor Tony Todd, who tragically died of stomach cancer in November 2024. Here’s my review of the Final Destination Bloodlines.

What is Final Destination: Bloodlines about?
Final Destination: Bloodlines is about a college student named Stefani Reyes, who is constantly having the same nightmares about a tower collapsing in her hometown of Cloverdale, New York, in 1969.
We soon come to find out that the tower is known as the Skyview, and that it never really collapsed but was demolished without incident. However, the visions lead Stefani home, where she meets with her estranged family and learns about the haunting event.

She eventually meets with her grandmother, Iris Campbell. This is when Stefani also discovered that Iris had a premonition of the tower collapse decades earlier and warned the occupants, which ended up preventing the disaster.
As most of us know, what happens in these movies, interfering with death can lead to horrible consequences. Soon, death began claiming the lives of the would-be victims and their descendants, Stefani’s family included.
When strange and brutal deaths begin occurring, Stefani realizes her family is being hunted in the exact order they would have died.
She is left distraught and seeking answers, and eventually starts speaking to Iris’s old ally, William Bludworth. This is when he reveals two possible ways to cheat Death, which is by taking a life or by dying and being revived.
Despite their efforts to outwit fate through near-death plans and hiding from Death’s reach, Stefani and her relatives face one horrific accident after another. One by one, her family members fall, and any hope of survival grows slimmer.
Even after believing they’ve escaped Death’s grasp, Stefani and her brother Charlie learn the truth too late, as no one can truly outrun fate.
Honest thoughts

I won’t lie — I wasn’t shocked when they announced another Final Destination movie. The franchise is hugely popular, so it made sense. Even though the fifth film seemed like a perfect ending that neatly tied everything together, fans were still eager to know if there would be another installment — and I’d say this one didn’t disappoint.
I didn’t hate the characters in this film, which is saying something since most horror movie characters tend to be insufferable.
The deaths were gruesome, though they looked clearly unrealistic and too heavy on CGI.
That said, one of the positives was that the movie didn’t feel boring, and the runtime felt just right.
Tony Todd’s message really stood out. He delivered a touching, emotional reflection on life that felt both poignant and wise.
Would I be up for another Final Destination movie? Heck yes!
