So, you’ve probably seen Money Heist by now. This show had us all hooked from the very first episode.
Who didn’t hold their breath when we thought The Professor was about to get caught, or when the heist seemed like it was completely falling apart? From Tokyo, Berlin, and Rio, reckless decisions and the shows’s twists, Money Heist kept us guessing at every step.
Airing in 2017 on Netflix, the gripping drama (originally La Casa de Papel) quickly became a global sensation. The premise of the show is that a group of thieves are recruited by a mysterious Professor (played by Álvaro Morte), to rob the Royal Mint of Spain.
Alongside Morte, the cast includes Úrsula Corberó as Tokyo, Pedro Alonso as Berlin, Itziar Ituño as Raquel Murillo (Lisbon), Pedro Alonso as Berlin (Andrés de Fonollosa), Miguel Herrán as Rio (Aníbal Cortés), Jaime Lorente as Denver (Ricardo Ramos).

Stranger Things is about a group of kids—Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Lucas Sinclair—who attempt to find their missing friend, Will Byers, and are subsequently thrown into a supernatural world.
As they search for Will, they unexpectedly encounter a mysterious girl named Eleven, who possesses incredible telekinetic abilities. Furthermore, she knows secrets about a dangerous government lab and a strange, dark world called the Upside Down.
Narcos
Narcos is a gripping crime drama about the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar, Colombia’s infamous cocaine kingpin. To begin with, the story follows a DEA agent sent to Colombia to track him down.
Unfortunately, however, Pablo becomes so powerful that he’s practically untouchable, even clashing with the government and law enforcement. The show is intense and full of action, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. Finally, it’s worth noting that Narcos was created by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Miro.
Peaky Blinders
Set in post-WWI Birmingham, Peaky Blinders follows the Shelby family and their rise in the criminal underworld, with Cillian Murphy as he gives an incredible performance as Thomas Shelby.
The Crown
The Crown is one of the controversies on this list – but the show is completely addictive. It follows members of the British Royal Family throughout the years and the star-stellar cast includes Imelda Staunton, Olivia Williams, Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, and Greg Wise. Definitely one for fans of Money Heist.
Ozark
Ozark follows Marty Byrde and his money laundering scheme. After a failed operation he and his family are forced to move to Lake of the Ozarks region of central Missouri so he can make amends and run a larger operation. The show is full of suspense and gripping action, making it a must-watch.
Dark
Debuting on Netflix in December 2017, Dark is a German sci-fi thriller about a small town where the disappearance of two children uncovers a web of secrets spanning multiple generations.
The show revolves around four interconnected families and a mysterious cave system that allows time travel, linking events from the past, present, and future.
The Witcher
If you watched Money Heist, you’ll want to see The Witcher. Another hit Netflix show, the fantasy series follows Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a Witcher.
He gets involved with a powerful sorceress, Yennefer, and a young princess, Ciri, who harbors a mysterious power.
Together, they must face dark forces, unravel prophecies, and survive in a world with ruthless humans. One to watch for fantasy drama fans!
Better Call Saul
Best on the groundbreaking Breaking Bad series, Better Call Saul is the story of Jimmy McGill, a struggling lawyer trying to make a name for himself. He later gets involved in the criminal world, including the dangerous Cartels.
The Mandalorian
A Star Wars spin-off, The Mandalorian follows the journey of Din Djarin, a lone bounty hunter. After the Empire’s fall, he takes on dangerous jobs across the galaxy. His life changes when he captures a mysterious child, Grogu (aka Baby Yoda), but instead, he chooses to protect him.
Fargo
In Fargo, a drifter named Lorne Malvo arrives in small-town Minnesota as he begins malicious mind games and violent actions. He crosses paths with Lester Nygaard, an amiable insurance salesman, whose life is turned upside down as he gets drawn into Malvo’s web of crime and deceit.
Black Mirror
Black Mirror is a popular Netflix show about a group of people with the ability to see alternate realities. As people begin to interact with the mirror, they uncover dark secrets and hidden desires, leading to dangerous consequences.
The Boys
The Boys is a dark superhero TV series that follows a group of ordinary people, known as “The Boys,” led by the vengeful Billy Butcher. They take matters into their own hands to expose the dark side of these evil heroes, including a powerful group called The Seven.
The Queen’s Gambit
The Queen’s Gambit is a show that will grip you from the start. It follows Beth Harmon who is a chess prodigy, as he competes in Chess tournaments across the globe. The hit series stars stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Marielle Heller, Bill Camp, Moses Ingram, and Harry Melling.
Vikings
Created and written by Michael Hirst, Vikings is a gripping show about a Viking warrior Ragnar Lothbrok from a farmer to a renowned chieftain and king.
