I don’t know about you, but I was practically sobbing when It Ends With Us hit cinemas. Despite the controversy, the movie delivers a powerful story about domestic abuse. Blake Lively plays Lily Bloom, a 23-year-old who moves to Boston to start her dream floral shop.
Lily grew up in a violent home, watching her father abuse her mother. During this tough time, she met Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), a homeless teen who became her first love and safe space. Years later, Atlas is now a successful chef, and his return stirs up old feelings.
But Lily’s present takes a turn when she meets Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni), a confident and driven neurosurgeon. Their relationship starts with passion and promise, but it soon becomes clear that Ryle struggles with his temper.
After a fit of rage turns into physical violence, Lily is forced to confront the cycle of abuse she swore she’d never repeat. And if you’ve watched the movie (assuming you have if you click on the post) you know how the story ends.
