Hello, The Pitt fans. The popular medical drama is heading your way very soon, according to the latest reports. Following two successful seasons, the show is set to air another season in 2027. It looks like we are in for a bit of a treat, as, from the looks of it, The Pitt Season 3 looks action-packed, chaotic and definitely worth investing your time in again.
In this post, I will break down which characters are returning, the ones that aren’t, the new faces joining the season, as well as breaking down the trailer and revealing the air date. Let’s dive in.

What will The Pitt season 3 be about?
As of now, we don’t have huge plot details for the upcoming season. However, we know that The Pitt Season 3 will be set in November around Thankgiving time, accoridng to Decider.
Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill said, “This season is an exploration of all these characters and their own sort of crises that they’re going through.” He added,”We’ve been really grateful and creating these characters that come to life. And now we get to explore and take them on the next sort of journey and see how they deal with each other, how they deal with themselves as they go through this journey of becoming these doctors. And, and it’s it’s really exciting for us. And we have a lot of good things planned for everyone.”
Katherine LaNasa, who plays nurse Dana Evans also teased that revolving the next season around Thanksgiving will cause huge problems in the ER. She said, “We always deep-fried turkeys in Louisiana so I can see some deep fry incidents. Yeah, big huge pots of oil. I’m sure that’s coming up.”
Meanwhile Gemmill shared that the team hopes to explore more of Dr. Al-Hashimi’s storyline in Season 3. It comes following news that she suffered two seizures during Season 2.

In this short teaser clip we can see that Dr. Robby has returned from his sabbatical. However, he is still struggling mentally. Meanwhile, Victoria Javadi begins her first day of residency. Dr Langdon appears to be struggling also, but we aren’t sure from what. There’s plenty of things happening this season.
Who is returning to The Pitt season 3 and who isn’t?
According to latest news, Dr. Parker Ellis (played by Ayesha Harris), has been promoted to series regular. Unfortunately, we have lost the character Dr. Samira Mohan (portrayed by Supriya Ganesh). We will also be treated to new faces, after it was revealed by Gemmill.
When is The Pitt Season 3 returning?
The show has been confirmed to have a return date of January 2027.
