According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perfect Crown is a romantic comedy set in a modern-day Korea that still operates under a constitutional monarchy.
The story centres on the much-loved Grand Prince Wan, who becomes caught up in a tense power struggle within the royal family.
The official synopsis reveals: “We follow the people’s favorite royal, Grand Prince Wan, as he becomes embroiled in a power struggle with other members of the royal family.
“With pressure on the prince to marry, he strikes up a marriage of convenience with Heeju, the heir to a Korean conglomerate, but while the pair will work together to advance their own ends, things don’t go quite as smoothly as planned.”
Previously known as Wife of a 21st Century Grand Prince, the drama has already been widely discussed in Korea and is expected to be one of the most anticipated series of 2026.
Who is in the cast of Perfect Crown?
The series stars two of Korea’s most popular actors.
IU, the globally famous singer and actress, recently appeared in Netflix’s When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025), Dream (2023), Broker (2022), Hotel del Luna (2019) and more.
Meanwhile, Byeon Woo-seok is known for his role in with Lovely Runner (2024), 20th Century Girl (2022), Strong Girl Nam-soon (2023), and Record of Youth (2020).
Disney+ shared a first-look post, saying: “A match made in K-drama heaven 👑 This is your first look at #PerfectCrown (working title), starring IU and Byeon Wooseok. Coming to #DisneyPlusPH in 2026.”
