As a huge Love Island fan, I love it when unexpected couples get together and continue their love story outside the confines of the villa.
With the UK edition of the show spanning 12 fabulous seasons so far, you often wonder whether couples are in it for the long haul.
And thankfully, we’re proven wrong. This time, we’re shining a light on Sophie Piper and her boyfriend, Josh Richie.
How did Sophie Piper and Josh Richie meet?
When Love Island announced they would have an All-stars addition, fans went absolutely wild for it, including me.
We had such a great line up including Hannah Elizabeth, Luis Morrison, Georgia Harrison, Georgia Steel, Chris Taylor, Anton Danyluk, Callum Jones, Molly Smith, Demi Jones, Kaz Kamwi, Toby Aromolaran, Jake Cornish, Liberty Poole, Mitchel Taylor, Arabella Chi, Jess Gale, Eve Gale, Joe Garratt, Joanna Chimonides, Casey O’Gorman, Tom Clare, Sophie Piper, Tyler Cruickshank, Josh Ritchie, and others.
Josh and Sophie were both introduced as bombshells on the show.
They went on their first date after Sophie and Tom Clare got to choose who they wanted to go on dates with.
The couple went strength to strength and ended up in the finale alongside couples Callum Jones and Jess Gale and Molly Smith and Tom Clare.
They ended up in third place, with Calum and Jess second and Molly and Tom taking the crown. Sophie and Josh secured 15% of the public votes.

When did Sophie previously appear on Love Island?
Sophie originally appeared in series 6 of the show, which aired in early 2020.
She isn’t afraid of the spotlight, having a famous sister in the spotlight already, Rochelle Humes from the Saturdays and now turned ITV’s This Morning presenter.
She is also married to JLS star Marvin Humes, with whom she has three children.
Sophie was one of the original contestants in her series.
During her time in the villa, she was coupled up with Connor Durman, and the two quickly hit it off.
However, their relationship faced hurdles in their romance, particularly when Connor was put off by some of Sophie’s behavior, and he eventually coupled with Siânnise Fudge, another contestant in the villa.
Sophie went on to form a connection with Wallace Wilson; however, it didn’t last, and she eventually left the show without finding lasting love in the villa.
When did Josh Richie first appear on Love Island?
The Bolton-born star appeared on Love Island back in 2015.
He was an OG islander and came in third place alongside Lauren Richardson in the finale. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out between the pair as they eventually called it quits.
He’s also related to someone famous—his sister, Michaela Wain, who competed on the thirteenth series of The Apprentice.
Before Sophie, Ritchie was in a relationship with Charlotte Crosby back in 2018, but they reportedly broke it off in November 2019.
Are Sophie Piper and Josh Richie still together?
Yes, the couple is still together.
Since leaving the Love Island villa, Josh and Sophie regularly post videos together on their respective TikTok accounts as well as snaps from their recent holidays together, including the Maldives.
Josh said in an Instagram post about Sophie, “Just the beginning (heart emoji) Thank you to everyone that has supported us throughout our journey honestly means the world.”
The couple recently celebrated their one year anniversary.
Meanwhile Sophie shared a loving post to Josh on his 31st birthday.
She wrote: “You make my world brighter, my heart fuller and my life better. Happiest of birthdays to the best boyfriend I could ask for. @joshrichie1.”
Opening up about their romance previously she said, “We’re taking things slow.
“He’s in Manchester and I’m in London but we’re still managing to see each other and we always say that it’s nice to miss each other.
“Me and Josh are really good, I feel like we’re the two people who least expected it to turn out the way it has, but yeah, we’re really happy.”
Engagement rumours
The couple has been growing closer in recent months, leading fans to speculate about engagement rumors.
However, the couple has yet to deny or confirm the speculation.
They seem happily in love, nonetheless.
Pregnancy rumours
Last year, Sophie Piper was forced to address rumors she was pregnant.
She shut down rumors circulating with a defiant message.
Taking to social media, she firmly stated, “For everyone saying I’m pregnant I’m not.”
She went on to explain the situation after a fan commented on her appearance, attributing the speculation to an innocent wardrobe mishap: “The wind was blowing up my shirt LOL uncle Fester,” referencing the famously chunky character from The Addams Family.
