What a week it has been, and now onto some more Love Island drama.
Here’s a catch-up on the latest episodes and my honest thoughts.

Episode 15
This episode kicks off with a recoupling, where the girls choose the guys they want to couple up with. At this point, there have been so many recouplings that I’ve lost count, and honestly, I don’t care for them much anymore.
Toni goes first, and it’s clear she picks Harrison. However, what she doesn’t know is that he’s been chatting with Helena, and it’s obvious he’s making it known to her that he’s more interested in her (yikes).
Emily has finally woken up to the fact that Conor is way more interested in Megan than her, and I’m proud of her for realizing that.
I’m getting sick of this Helena, Harry, and Shakira drama. It’s frustrating, but I do feel bad for Harry and Helena, especially since both of them end up crying.
Yas and Ben? Nope, I don’t see it. They clearly didn’t have anyone else to couple up with, and they don’t really match each other’s vibes.
The running jokes about “wife swaps” with Tommy getting to know Emily, while Conor and Megan hit it off, are pretty funny.
Things get really interesting in the last few minutes when Emily, Helena, Dejon, and Remell are whisked away to a secret villa.
There, they’ll meet four new bombshells: Poppy, Giorgio, Caprice, and Will. This is very exciting!
Episode 16
Everyone is anxious now that four islanders have been chosen to leave for another secret villa, dubbed ‘The Sleepover.’
Not much has really happened in this episode, apart from Dejon and Remell being incredibly flirty… It’s as if they’ve forgotten they’re already in couples.
I was quite shocked by Remell’s comment about not being ‘occupied’ in the villa despite being with Alima. Those are some very bold words!
At the end, the islanders are shown what’s being said about them on their phones, and it’s pretty sneaky!
Elsewhere, Megan and Conor are turning up the heat in their romance. Unfortunately, the collateral damage is Tommy and Emily. It’s clear these two are smitten with each other.
Hopefully, the next episode is a bit more exciting.
Episode 17
It’s getting really icky now with Dejon and Remell’s behavior. This is particularly evident in the comment Dejon made about being happy to explore other females without “Meg breathing down my neck.” Another Truth or Dare game—boring!
Last night’s clip from the sleepover has sent the girls spiraling, and it’s been very fun to watch. I don’t get some of these connections, especially with Helena and Giorgio, and Dejon and Caprice.
There are also a couple of couples in the main villa who I don’t understand are still there. Tommy has cut things off with Megan, which is hilarious.
Finally, the bit we’ve all been waiting for: Decision time.
I can’t believe that this segment of the sleepover has only been one episode. It’s a bit crazy, as that’s not enough time to get to know someone.
As you can imagine, the boys—namely Dejon and Remell—decided to play it safe despite moving mad with other girls at the sleepover.
It was a bit disappointing, but not surprising, as they are major flirts.
So in the end, three out of the four new faces ended up getting dumped, and Shea unfortunately bid farewell to his time on Love Island after also being sent home.
Overall thoughts
As exciting as the whole Sleepover element was, I just didn’t think they gave it enough time for the main villa islanders to explore new connections.
It felt a bit rushed and unnecessary. I get now that it’s been twelve seasons of the show, with the producers were looking to spice things up, but honestly, the whole concept seemed good on paper, and just fell flat.
The mini Casa Amor just didn’t work, unfortunately.
However, seeing some of the couples have cracks already showing in their relationship was quite entertaining to watch.
