What’s Melo Movie About?

Melo Movie is a slice-of-life drama that tells the story of two young people, Ko Gyeom (played by Choi Woo-shik) and Kim Mu-bee.

The pair end up bonding over their shared love of films and go on to fall in love, but they eventually get separated by difficult circumstances.

Ko Gyeom is a passionate movie lover who dreams of watching every movie ever made, having spent most of his childhood glued to the screen.

He starts working on film sets, where he meets Kim Mu-bee, an aspiring director with a strained relationship with her father.

As Ko Gyeom faces a tragic event in his life, he decides to walk away from everything, leaving behind his dream and his relationship with Mu-bee.

This decision causes the two to drift apart.

However, five years later, they run into each other again when Ko Gyeom moves next door to Mu-bee.

Old feelings return, but so do past misunderstandings and unresolved issues, but can they work through it?

Is It Worth Watching?

Melo Movie is a slower-paced K-drama.

If you’re someone who likes a strong plot, this might not be for you. Not a lot happens, and the story sometimes feels like it’s dragging.

Some of the misunderstandings between the characters could have been cleared up earlier, which might have made the plot move faster and the romance stronger.

However, I did enjoy the relationship between Ko Gyeom and Kim-Mubee, especially after they rekindled their romance.

Ko Gyeom is the kind of guy all girls want; he’s gentle, thoughtful, and shows just how much he appreciates his girl despite being in the wrong.

While I loved these two, there are a few characters who don’t seem to add much to the story, which can make the movie feel a bit too dull at times.

However, the movie is very pretty to look at. If you appreciate beautiful cinematography, especially one with old film aesthetic throughout.

Melo Movie focuses more on the characters and their emotions than on the plot itself, exploring human connections including friendship, family, and love.

But while Melo Movie is nice, it’s not one of those K-dramas you’ll likely remember for years.

Final Thoughts

Melo Movie is a gentle, character-driven story and perfect if you want something light and visually beautiful, but if you’re looking for a more exciting or unforgettable drama, it may not be the one for you.
