Culpa Mia (also known as My Fault) started as a breakout Wattpad story and has now made its way to the screen – and I’ve got some serious thoughts on it.

What’s Culpa Mía About?
It is a coming-of-age romance by Argentine-Spanish author Mercedes Ron. The film follows Noah, a teenager whose life is turned upside down when her mother moves in with a wealthy new husband, William Leister.
Forced to leave behind her old life, including her boyfriend and best friend, Noah has to adjust to a new world.
Noah is complicated by the trauma she’s endured in her past, especially her strained relationship with her mother, Rafaella.
Adding to her turmoil, Noah moves in with her stepbrother, Nick.
Their first interactions are filled with animosity, but as they spend more time together, it is clear to see that there is an undeniable attraction between them.
Their relationship evolves into a forbidden love, and Noah gets dragged into Nick’s dangerous life outside their home.
He’s involved in competitive car races and gang violence – much to Noah’s dismay.
Meanwhile, Noah finally admits to him that she has a dad who is in prison and had previously put her life in danger.
Is Culpa Mía Worth Watching?
While Culpa Mía isn’t without its flaws, it’s a compelling watch for fans of forbidden romance and angsty teen dramas.
The chemistry between Noah and Nick is the film’s strongest point, with their evolving relationship keeping you hooked even through the movie’s more dramatic moments.
Despite this, the acting can sometimes feel over-the-top, and some scenes may be a bit too dramatic for certain viewers.
The dubbed version, in particular, might feel a little off, which could take you out of the experience.
But despite these shortcomings, the film moves at a fast pace, and the romance has enough yearning and passion to make you root for the characters.
Culpa Mía has its flaws, but for fans of dramatic stories centering around young romance, it’s an enjoyable, binge-worthy pick.
