Fans of Holly Jackson have probably all seen it. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is the book that took TikTok by storm, with readers all over the world. So, it’s no surprise that book lovers were thrilled to hear the teen murder mystery was being adapted into a new TV series — myself included.

What’s the Show About?

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder follows a clever and determined teen named Pip Fitz-Amobi, who reopens a murder case in her town that everyone else has moved on from.

A few years ago, a popular girl named Andie Bell supposedly got killed by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then died by suicide.

However, Andie’s body was never found, but most people just accepted that Sal did it – except Pip.

For a school project, she decides to investigate what really happened, but as she begins to dig deeper, she soon realised that there are some things that don’t add up.

As Pip interviews people connected to the case, from friends, classmates, teachers, and neighbors, she discovers that some people have been keeping secrets buried.

She’s clever and refuses to be intimidated, even as things start getting dangerous.

The teen then teams up with Sal’s younger brother, Ravi, and together they start putting together pieces to hopefully clear Sal’s name in the supposed murder.

The mystery gets more intense with each episode, and things go extremely wrong for Pip, including to the point where she almost puts her life in danger.

Is It Worth Watching?

Honestly, yes – especially if you’re into crime mysteries.

The show does a great job of portraying the book, and Emma Myers does well at playing Pip.

She’s totally believable in the role and has great chemistry with Zain Iqbal, who plays Ravi. The story isn’t rushed and works at a good pace, and the setting of the series is stunning to look at.

If you like gripping mysteries with interesting characters this one’s definitely worth adding to your list. It’s got enough tension and drama that will keep you hooked to the screen.
