Bridgerton Season 4 will bring new drama and romance as the spotlight is cast on Benedict Bridgerton.
Benedict is our favorite shy, talented artist who knows how to impress women. As his siblings marry off, Season 4 promises to see him find love. According to the Netflix teaser, Benedict (played by Luke Thompson) is hesitant to settle down – until he meets Sophie (portrayed by Yerin Ha) at Violet Bridgerton’s (Ruth Gemmell) masquerade ball and everything changes.
Luke Thompson gives us a sneak peek into Benedict’s journey in Bridgerton Season 4, hinting at a fresh take on a classic fairytale. He told Tudum:
“The storyline is a bit of a twist on ‘Cinderella.’ You remember being told those stories as a child – the magic and the romance of them. It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton … It’s such a great story, but it’s also, I hope, really relatable.”

Sophie Baek introduced as a transwoman
While details about the new faces in Bridgerton Season 4 are still under wraps, fans are already speculating that Sophie could be a trans character.
One Reddit user penned: “I’m agnostic about the connection to the Cowpers (although I’m aware of the mother’s name), but I love the idea of trans story with Sophie! I think a masquerade has great potential to bring in gender presentation.
Another fan of the show said: “That’s a fun idea with the color symbolism for bringing in the trans flag that I haven’t seen applied to Bridgerton before.”
It won’t be about Francesca Bridgerton
We were introduced to Francesca Bridgerton briefly in Season 3, who had an interesting match with John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin. While their story wasn’t explored fully, fans believe that Season 4 is the perfect opportunity for producers to show more of their blossoming romance. However, others think that won’t be the case.
One person said on Reddit: “The showrunner said Fran’s story needs a couple of seasons of lead up so it’s not her next.”
Another fan chimed in: “Eloise and Francesca are not ready for their seasons because the set-up is not complete. I can’t see them skipping over all of the necessary set-up events during the off-season.”

Unfortunately, while the show is a hit, fans are convinced that Netflix will renew one more series of Bridgerton before calling it a day.
One person wrote: “Netflix will probably make it to season 5 if ratings don’t drastically increase because of something viral in upcoming episodes. S4 is confirmed and honestly… everything afterwards is very questionable.”
A second person added: “I think we will get s5. If Francesca gets good stories in s3 or s4, we might reach s6. I want all of the seasons but I don’t trust Netflix.”
Eloise falls for Sir Phillip Crane
In Season 3, we see a hint of Eloise possibly falling for Theo, despite her reluctance to marry. In the Bridgerton books, Eloise is set to marry Sir Phillip Crane. Now, fans are convinced his character will be introduced in the new season, setting up a potential Eloise and Phillip love story for Season 5.
One fan said on Reddit: “Eloise: making friends outside of Mayfair, hoping to reconnect with Theo (if he’s back), becomes the default Bridgerton to send condolences to Sir Phillip and starts writing to him and builds a friendship, becomes close to Sophie.”
